President’s YAY!
With less than two weeks until the season begins, preseason is in full swing with some jam-packed club weekends ahead to launch the start of the hockey year. This backpost has some key info on President’s day and Club day, as well as a note on how to keep up to date with all things Wapping.
President’s day- THIS SATURDAY!
This Saturday from 9:30 until late President’s Day will be taking place at John Orwell. Schedule and info below:
Schedule
9:30: Fun Family+Kidds session run by Kiran Dhoot
11:00: Older Kidds showcase game
12:30: Lunch and launch of Wapping Kidds foundation with special guest founder Tim Poeton all the way from the US
13:30: Alumni game - there’s still time to get involved with this so if you fancy a gentle run around in the sun then pop along.
16:30: Drinks and social (location still TBC but will be Wapping based). Will update in the Wapping News and updates group once sorted.
Key information
If you have time and are feeling kind please bring some homemade treats (with no nuts ingredients). There will be a snacks and merchandise stall to help raise funds for the Kidds.
Pizza for lunch! Orders will be taken at 11am (at the beginning of the Kidds showcase game) so please arrive in time for that if you would like to put your pizza order in

Club day - Saturday 16th September
If one day of club wide hockey and fun isn’t enough then do not fear, next weekend on the 16th September Wapping club day is taking place at Lee Valley. This is always a great day to bring everyone together and start the season off with a bang. Again, schedule and information below:

11:00: Kidds Masterclass (with head coach Matt Bowen) (pitch 1)
12:30: Mixed tournament (pitch 2)
14:30: Mixed tournament final (pitch 1)
15:00: L1 v City of Peterborough (pitch 1)
16:45: M1 v Sittingbourne (pitch 1)
19:00: Club social @ Hackney Bridge
Key information
Scrumptious wood fired pizza will be available to purchase on the day (from 13:00-17:00)
Sports massages will be available throughout the day from @sharp_movement_massage

Smithy’s Sponsored Silence: 23rd September
For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Jordan ‘Smithy’ Smith, you will know he is incredibly talkative. However, on 23rd September, during his first match of the season and the subsequent club wide social, Smithy has pledged his silence!
