Countdown to Christmas
Whilst lots of teams didn’t get to have fun on the pitch last week due to the wintery temperatures (booo), the club certainly had a great time at the Christmas social. As we roll into the last week of league matches let’s keep our fingers crossed for slightly milder weather and some big wins!
Festive vibes!
A massive thank you to the social secs for another great evening on Saturday night at the Wapping Christmas social. There were turtle doves, the Spice Girls, reindeer, Greggs items, a Shrek squad and a Christmas boyband amongst others.
Best dressed went to: Ladies 3s who were dressed as Xmas #1s earning 50 big points towards their team of the year total (see below).
Team of the year
As we come to the midpoint of the season that also means we are half way through the team of the year competition. Points can be collected all over the place from performance on the pitch and helping out the club (umpiring, kidds, coaching etc.) to social media posts and even fancy dress at club socials.

Some explanation on how these teams have risen to the top:
The judges: M8 and L5 have done tonnes of umpiring, making up the bulk of their points
The party animals: L7 are getting a great turnout at socials
The jacks of all trades: L3 and M3 are getting solid points across the board including umpiring, kidds coaching, fundraising and coaching
The workhorse: shoutout to Smithy who apparently is ‘carrying’ the M4s on points
